San Francisco Marathon Training: Day 119 of 126

7 more days until the San Francisco Marathon! I have been waiting F-O-R-E-V-E-R for this day! When I heard last year that this race was going to be on my birthday I knew that I was going to run it. I changed plans quite a few times for my 30th birthday – staying the weekend in Santa Cruz, wine tasting in Napa…then I saw the SF Marathon changed the race date to July and made a final decision of how I would be celebrating turning 30.  I have been training hard. Early mornings. Making running a priority. And having a great time doing it. I’ll admit, there were days that I didn’t feel like running and I was just not into it, but I am sure we all go through that.

Today was my last long run – 10 miles. It was a nice run. I slept in so my run got started very late (for me) about 10AM. I ran to my parent’s house, visited the dogs.

Me and Chewy – I love her. She’s so damn old.

Pretty random. After visiting my parents I was getting tired & hungry so we stopped at the Sun & Soil Juice Company . My first time there! They are super nice, and have great juices. Loved the service and I will be back all the time!! I had the Sweet Green today. YUUMMM!!



So I had a dream last night that I was running a marathon and I finished in 3:38:11. I am hoping for a 3:40, but who knows. This will be my first marathon in San Francisco. I have run a few halfs in the city, so I know to expect a hilly course, but we will see how it goes. I know I have become a stronger runner since using the Hansons Marathon Method for my training. I also know I am lacking confidence…still. I am afraid of burning out and not being able to finish. That’s my worst fear during a race, especially a marathon. For this race I’m not going to worry about it and trust my training.

I will also be sporting my November Project Sacramento Grassroots Gear! (How do you like my headless mirror picture?)

  1. Good luck next weekend! I hope all goes well for you especially because it would be the best birthday present 🙂 I ran my first marathon the day after my birthday last year and it definitely made for the best birthday celebration!

  2. I won’t be there in person, but you know I’ll be cheering you on in thought and via social media! Love the #GrassRootsGear and reppin’! I bet there will be tons of tribe members on the course and cheering for you 🙂

  3. Race day is so close!! I know the course pretty well now, it’s hilly in the first half but there is a lot of downhill and flat areas too to make up for time, so I definitely think PR’s are still possible! Good luck to you! 🙂
